1. Place the cursor in any cells of the sheet and press "Control A" (all cells are selected).
2. Press right click and select format cells.
3. Click "Protection" and un-check the "Locked" box and press Ok.
4. By pressing control key CTRL and mouse selection, choose the cells to be locked.
5. After selecting all the cells to be lock, press right click and then go back to "Protection" as describe in step #3. Now check the "Locked" box and press Ok.
6. Go to Review and click "Protect Sheet"
7. Now make sure that the boxes as shown below are checked. Provide password to ensure that only you can change the settings you've made.
8. After pressing Okay you will find out that the cells that you have selected in step#4 are now cannot be change.
9. To cancel the protection all you have to do the step similar to step#6 but at this time you will be prompted with "Unprotect Sheet". You will be asked for a password and after successful entry of your password, you can now change the settings.
